What is a Verbena?
A Verbena is a small flower, with five petals, and typically some shade of blue. It has been highly regarded as a sacred herb with divine qualities. In the early Christian era, folk legend stated that it was used to staunch Jesus' wounds after his removal from the cross. It was consequently called "Holy Herb".
Who is Princess Verbena?
Princess Verbena is of royal decent, a daughter of her father in heaven. She is a Young Woman with values and remembers her standards. She has many talents and stands for what she knows is right.
Why Verbena?
For many years now, my mom has called me Tina Verbena. When she saw my first drawing she said, "I'm going to call her Princess Verbena." And the name stuck.
Who is Tina Verbena?
Well, it's just Tina to everyone but Mom. I have been creating cards, calendars, posters, etc. since we got our first computer. Believe me, that was a very long time ago. Now, my day job is as a Desktop Publisher for a company that writes training materials for web development. This means, I take what everyone else has written and make it look good for printing. In our spare time, my husband David and I, run DTPublishing, our own business where we build websites and various printing projects for small businesses and wedding invitations. I tend to be the creative one while David is the master of programming. I couldn't do any of this without his support.
Dedication
My mom was my Young Women's president and has been called to the position again. It is from her that I get my inspiration and for her that I have created this site. Verbena is drawn with much love for the church, for Young Women and especially for my mom! I dedicate Princess Verbena to her.
Love, Tina
